The National Federation for Biblio/Poetry Therapy (NFBPT) is the (501)(c)(6) independent standards-setting board for the field of biblio/poetry therapy, the broadest definition of which includes all forms of therapeutic writing. Accreditation by NFBPT is the highest credential available in the field and is worthy of consideration for all Certified Journal Facilitators.
Currently, NFBPT has approved the Therapeutic Writing Institute’s curriculum for 50% of hours in all categories for its Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator (CAPF), Certified Poetry Therapist (CPT) and Registered Poetry Therapist (PTR) credentials. Discussions continue about other ways for CJF graduates to receive national accreditation through NFBPT.
