Joy Roulier Sawyer is a poet, educator, and poetry therapist from Denver, CO. She received a 2007-08 Rocky Mountain Women’s Institute fellowship for her performance poetry, a staging of her eight-sonnet crown, Following the Piper. Joy is a registered poetry therapist (PTR) and approved Mentor/Supervisor (M/S) through the National Federation for Biblio/Poetry Therapy (NFBPT), and spent five years of training and supervision with Kay Adams, director of the Center for Journal Therapy. Along with Kay, she teaches writing and healing coursework at University College, University of Denver.
