Holly Makimaa

Holly Makimaa has been facilitating journaling classes and workshops for 13 years and currently maintains a private holistic healing practice in East Lansing, Michigan. Passionate about the power of writing to heal, Holly is pleased to incorporate journaling exercises with the energetic healing and spiritual counseling work she does with clients. Holly holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University (with a minor in journalism) and a graduate certificate in theological studies from Washington Theological Union. She has taken graduate courses in pastoral studies and pastoral counseling and is certified as a Reiki and Esoteric Healing practitioner. She teaches meditation for individuals and educational institutions through her holistic healing business. Holly is an instructor at Lansing Community College where she teaches Journaling for Wellness and Memoir Writing. Holly began journaling at the age of 15 and is thrilled to teach others about the benefits of personal writing anytime, anywhere.
